The Coolest steps up the fun level of any outdoor gathering. Nothing tastes better on a hot day than a blended drink, and nothing draws a crowd like good music! To get your party on the road, we’ve created the world’s first rolling cooler with a built-in blender, Bluetooth speakers, and all the other nice touches you’ve been hoping for (but never found) on your average coolers.

The Coolest takes the pain out of planning your next great adventure. We’ve taken that boring, old-fashioned boxed cooler gathering dust in your garage and revamped it for modern-day fun. The Coolest is the only all-in-one outdoor entertainment solution you’ll need for tailgating, camping, picnics, beach parties, barbecues, and anytime you’re enjoying the great outdoors.

We’ve stocked the Coolest with the perfect gear you need for outdoor fun in one easy package:

BLENDER

Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day than a cold, blended drink. The Coolest makes that easy. With the push of one button, the lid-top, battery-powered blender whips up your favorite margarita or smoothie. Consists of an 18-volt battery-powered blender with hardened plastic pitcher that attaches to the Coolest lid. Makes approximately 60 batches per charge.

SPEAKER

Life’s good with friends, and even better with music. The Coolest lets you easily stream your tunes to the wireless, removable speaker from any Bluetooth phone or device. Connectivity available within a 30-50 ft range. Runs for 8-12 hours per charge.

TIE-DOWN STRAPS

Carrying your gear to and from your destination can be a hassle. The Coolest’s locking bungee straps allow you to stack your load on top of the cooler and haul them around without falling. Makes it easy to get your gear around in one trip instead of three.

WHEELS

What good is a cooler if you can’t get it anywhere? The Coolest has two oversized wheels and a pull-out handle bar to help you attach all your gear. No matter what distance you’re walking, the Coolest makes it easy to get there in one piece.

USB CHARGER

Since you’ve got an 18-volt battery for the blender, why not get the most out of it? Maybe your camera battery is low, or maybe you have an iPhone you still want to use after 3:00 in the afternoon… Re-charge your gear wherever you are with a waterproof USB charger.

LIGHT

Take the frozen-fingered guesswork out of your nighttime refreshment runs. The Coolest has LED lights embedded into the inside lid of the cooler. Find what you want anytime, even in the dark.

OPENER

A cold beer is only refreshing if you can get it opened. The Coolest has a built-in bottle opener attached to it, so you’ll never come up empty-handed again. Whether you love to tailgate, camp, or just the occasional picnic, the Coolest steps up the fun level of any gathering. When your average cooler just isn’t cool enough, you have to have a Coolest! So go ahead… Live your Coolest party today!

BUILT-IN STORAGE

There are certain essentials you need for any outdoor gathering, so why not have a built-in place to store them?  The Coolest has storage for a half-dozen reusable plastic plates, which also double as a cutting board for the attached ceramic rust-proof pairing knife.

        1. Sorry if the delivery date was confusing. We’re committed to begin shipping at the end of February 2015, but at this scale it’s possible they won’t all ship at once. We’ll be shipping out generally in the order they are received.

          1. 2. So my husband’s birthday is February 11, will I be able to officially order one by then (it’s ok if it’s not at the house just an order receipt and a pic will be fine for him to open on his actual birthday).

      1. Good question! We haven’t tested this personally, but theoretically a 60 quart cooler should hold about 90 cans. Depends of course how much else you have in there!

        1. As a mom, it would be Really cool if the cooler was wide enough to hold ROUND party trays, i.e. Subway, Chick-fil-A, local grocery sandwich trays. There is not a cooler wide enough on the market that I have found. I think those trays are about 24″ round.

          1. Good idea! But probably not in the scope of this first production run. Right now the Coolest measures just about 25″x18″x17″ and has 60 quarts volume inside.

          1. The pledge of $185 will get one, do you need to add in the cost of shipping to that on Kickstart (Pledge $200) or will you be asking for shipping separately?

          2. I am a manager at a fairly large retail business and catalog business that caters to the higher end outdoors industry. I would love to carry these in our catalog that is nationally distributed to over a million people every quarter and 2 retail businesses that are extremely busy it would be a perfect fit for us. Please email me with the information on orders and what we need to do we can move a lot of coolers and I think it would be a good relationship for us both.

          3. Thanks for the interest! We need to make sure we can first and foremost take care of our Kickstarter backers. Please send an email to the Coolest team at info@coolest.com. We’ll be taking a look at all offers after the campaign ends.

      1. I’m sorry, I don’t see an answer here. If we back this, can we have a choice of the color options that we receive? I’d love to have that choice. I’d also LOVE to see the stats on the hours that this cooler will stay at temp. I understand from below that it won’t be a Yeti, which I completely get, but will it at least comparable to a high grade Coleman? Finally, I love the idea of solar on this to recharge so you don’t lost power on a long camping trip. Do you have stats on how long the battery will last as it stands?

Finally, will you have answers to these questions before the kickstarter campaign ends by chance? I don’t mean this to be difficult, but I’m sure you understand just being thorough. If this can deliver, it seems genius!

        1. The COOLEST has been designed to have room for extra insulation where you need it most. It also has a thicker wall to make it tougher than a traditional cooler. It doesn’t have 3″ of insulation like a Yeti, but it’s certainly much better than traditional coolers. he battery for the blender, USB and lid light is an18v NiMH battery rated for 3000 Mah that can be replaced if eventually needed.
With our motor and current gearing, it only takes around 10-15 seconds to blend up a pitcher of drinks. So we’ll have capacity for at least 6 gallons of drinks per charge, likely more.
To recharge, you just plug into the wall or use a car charger and you’re set. Might be an interesting ‘sustainable power’ stretch goal coming too!The Bluetooth speaker is removable, and the self-contained battery has +1400Mah battery that’s good for around 8 hours per charge. It charges separately.
Right now we only have the one COOLEST color, but we’re running a contest now to pick two more options. Click here to vote on Facebook for your favorite colors!
We’ll be reaching out after the campaign closes to confirm your shipping details and color choice.
          Thanks,
          The COOLEST Team

          1. I’m sorry, but these were very vague (and just repeats of what was already said). What I’m looking for is a firm answer on

            1) If other colors are available, and we back you in the kickstarter, will we for sure have a choice of what color we want?

            2) Will you have answers or at least best guesses on how long this will hold ice, before the kickstarter is closed?

            3) Answer on battery was great. I never saw that there were two (one separate for the speaker) which is great thinking.

          2. Sorry Vanessa! Let me try and be as specific as possible:

            1) Other colors aren’t currently available, but we’ve been running a Facebook competition to pick two new colors. Head over there and vote, we’ll be announcing the winners at the end of the campaign. We’ll be sending around a survey to everyone after the campaign ends to finalize shipping details and color selection. If your chosed isn’t on the list or you’re in any way dissatisfied, you can cancel your pledge anytime.

            2) It’s hard to give a concrete answer on the ice without lots of testing, which will happen during our production and quality control process. There are just too many variables to say 100% for sure right now. But we’ll keep all our backers updated as we go through the testing phase, so you’ll know as soon as we do!

            3) We’re already at work with our amazing engineer team to make the battery the best possible. We don’t want it to die out on our outdoor parties, either!

Thanks again for all the questions, hope these help you make a final selection!

  1. Everything about this seems great, however, I haven’t seen anything that mentions how long ice will last inside of the coolest. That’s very pivotal to me, as I don’t want to spend a ton of money on a cooler I have to keep replacing with ice every day or even every other day.

    1. The COOLEST has been designed to have room for extra insulation where you need it most, and also a thicker wall to make it tougher than a traditional cooler. It doesn’t have 3″ of insulation like a Yeti but it’s certainly much better the traditional coolers. We won’t have exact hours until the next prototypes with the actual insulation formulation, but I’ll keep you updated.

      1. This should most definitely have a solar panel option. All the different electronic options will be a major drain on battery power. Solar recharge would be the way to go!

        1. Ryan’s based in Portland, so of course he’s interested in solar options. ;)
We’re exploring all options at this stage to see if any extra features might make the COOLEST even cooler. Keep an eye out for updates and I’ll definitely let you know if anything changes throughout the production process.

        1. We’re committed to begin shipping at the end of February but at this scale it’s possible they won’t all ship at once.

You can definitely pre-order several COOLESTs but will need to include $15 for each unit to cover shipping costs. For example:

For two units, pledge $400 total.
For three units, pledge $600 total.
For four units, pledge $800 total.

Just enter the total pledge amount and select the $185 award level. We’ll follow up with you this fall after the campaign ends to confirm the multiple orders and the shipping addresses.

      1. I live in a country with 100v 60 Hz outlets. Will I be able to charge the battery using an outlet here? What is the amperage draw (I live in a small house; my circuit breakers should be able to take it, but I’d like to be sure before I drop $285 for one of these awesome coolers).

  2. Not familiar with kickstart, so when you invest in this is this an investment in the company and you get shares in the company/therefore getting dividends if the company takes off?
If not are you offering any conventional investments?

  3. As a FL beach bum my biggest complaint with all of my coolers is the inevitable rusting of the pull handle, wheel axle, and lid hinges from the humidity and salty air at the beach. I’d rather invest in this AWESOME cooler than purchase a dull looking Yeti…yet the Yeti boasts rust resistant parts. Is the Coolest rust resistant? If it isn’t, will this be something addressed in your stretch goal? Is there any sort of warranty included in the purchase or offered for an additional sum of money?

    1. We’ll know more about the rust resistance during the testing and quality control phase of production. We’ll keep you updated and let you know about that one. Regarding the warranty — the COOLEST will come with a 1 yr warranty against defects, as well as a reasonably priced option for drunkenly lost or destroyed components. ;)

    2. I doubt it will be rust resistance, most parts are just plated or power coated. If they can’t boast about being “stainless steel” parts, then it is most likely not rust resistance. It will rust eventually, making it rust proof is costly. If it is going to be retailed for $299, they should address this issue.

    1. Unfortunately, pretty steep for a product of this size and weight. We’re currently estimating over $100 for an individual product, but could get that down if we get lots of backers and can utilize freight shipping options. So spread the word and get all your friends on board!

    1. I started off trying to get this made locally here in Portland, then in the US, and then mostly in the US, but now I’m resolved to go overseas. Design, engineering and fulfillment are all here, along with the sourcing company that’s helping to make the highest quality product at a price point that’s competitive.

      1. I’m with these other guys. If Cree can make revolutionary LED bulbs in the US you guys should be able to make a cooler here. I think you’ll find most discriminating buyers are willing to pay a little extra to get homegrown craftsmanship.

        1. Working on it! Lots more possible with all the interest the campaign has generated. Design, engineering and fulfillment are all US-based, along with the sourcing company that’s helping to make the highest-quality product at a price point that’s competitive.

          1. People like to boast about made in the usa, but truth is its not feasible for “Coolest” who doesn’t have its own factory and on top of that the price point will be too high. A cooler is a very time consuming object to make.

Its not like a Cree LED light bulb which is very high tech and the process is fully automated. People like to compare apples to oranges.

Although I think retail price for the coolest should be lower given that its made overseas, either in China or Thailand I believe.

        1. The only way to get one is to pre-order through the Kickstarter page here:

          https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ryangrepper/coolest-cooler-21st-century-cooler-thats-actually

People who back the project on Kickstarter get to have the very first COOLEST coolers and save a bunch over the estimated retail price of $299.

Just click on the ‘Back This Project’ button on the right hand side of the campaign page and follow the instructions for payment via Amazon Payments. Don’t forget to include shipping in your pledge amount, so either $200 for US deliveries or $275 for international orders!

    2. This shouldn’t make a difference even if made in America most parts still come from foreign countries and would still be put together by foreigners living in America. Since America is essentially founded by foreigners then there should be no complaints

      1. US made or made in other countries that are not victimizing and exploiting laborers is what we all need to be doing. Try getting companies that are FairTrade B corps or make it in the USA. You will be my favorite! :)

    3. would it be better if it was made i the USA Mike? ,,..No, ..supervised by people who invented the product assuring quality for you and at a resonable price? ..Yes! . Home Made from a Distance! ;)

    1. The outside of the COOLEST measures just about 25″x18″x17″ and has 60 quarts volume inside. We won’t have a final weight until further into the production process, but tag on a few extra pounds to your normal cooler for all our gadgets and you’re good to go.

      1. How much will the replaceable battery cost? Is it similar to a power tool battery or better yet – could you use a NiMH power tool battery to power it?

  4. I see that it is waterproof, but if it falls out of the canoe into the river, maybe even getting covered in water…will it still work or would I need to get a new battery, etc.?

    1. The Bluetooth speaker is waterless, but not the entire cooler. Probably a full dunking in the river will require a new battery :-) But I’ll have more info about that during our testing and quality control phase. So stay tuned!

  5. Any idea what the warranty will be like on this thing? I’m sure “lifetime” is out of the question, but what are you thinking realistically? Awesome concept, by the way… :)

    1. Because of our rapid success we can spend more money (and extra time) to make sure all components are as solid as possible. The COOLEST will come with a 1 yr warranty against defect and a reasonably priced option for drunkenly lost or destroyed components. ;)

      Hope that helps and thanks!

    1. Here are the minimum specs we’re sourcing in a waterproof speaker:

      Audio: 2.0CH+Low frequency passive radiator
      Power: DC+5V,1A
      Battery: 1500mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery
      Speaker: Φ45mm 6Ω*3
      Hz-kHz: 80Hz-20KHz
      SNR: ≥85dB
      Output Power: RMS 5W *2 (THD=10%,f=1KHz)
      PS: Built-in Microphone

The battery for the blender, USB and lid light is an18v NiMH battery rated for 3000 Mah that can be replaced if eventually needed.

      Hope that helps!

    1. Ryan’s based in Portland, so of course he’s interested in solar options. ;)
We’re exploring all ideas at this stage to see if any extra features might make the COOLEST even cooler. Keep an eye out for updates and I’ll definitely let you know if anything changes throughout the production process.

  6. how do you keep stuff cool inside ? by adding ice or is there also a self cooling mechanism like a fridge ?

    good luck!

    Amir

  7. I’m in construction… all I would have to do is show up on jobs with this and you would sell thousands of them. When I helped build Revel Casino we had over 5,000 others at any given time there. I also helped at CoGen Plants, Nuclear Power plant. Heck I just did A runway at McQuire Airforce base!

    1. So, if you invest in anything, and it flops, do you get a return on investment? No! That’s the risk involved in investing. Wish we all lived in the world you live in.

  8. Hi, I am in Turkey and i really like this cooler. I want to buy one but how can i get one of this? Can you send me an e-mail for contacting with you or can you show me how can i buy this on the website?

  9. What other upgrades are you considering besides the solar panel charger? If you decide to move forward with some of these potential upgrades will they be included in the expected February 2015 shipment?

      1. ickel metal hydride (NiMH) disadvantages:
        – fewer life cycles compared to NiCad
        – shorter run time
        – performs the worst in cold temperatures, so keep that in mind if you plan to use tools powered by NiMH outdoors in cold weather
        – higher self-discharge level than NiCad
        – voltage drop at near-discharged levels

  10. Will there be any type of warranty on this cooler since there are so many components?? I’m seriously considering backing the product but want to make sure I’m covered since it’s so new.

    1. Is the body made of plastic? Will you be offering larger coolers eventually? Does this come with the plates and knife?

      1. Right now we’re only preparing the one size for production, but we’ll keep you updated if anything changes. The plates + knife are included in the $185 price, please just be sure to remember to add an extra $15 for shipping for total pledge of $200.

  11. When you come out with the solar charging feature, then I’ll be completely sold! I go to burning man and if this had solar, it would be a HUGE hit with that crowd!

  12. Dear Dear Sir & Madam,

We are honored to introduce our company ” RUN FAR OUTDOORS INC.” to you.

We have been established for 8 years, the top Outdoor & Camping company in Taiwan.

We are not only selling products but also host camping activity for our members. Please refer to the attachments.

On the outdoors area, we were exclusive distributor of Snow Peak/Japan for 6 years, the flagship store of Coleman,GSI,Exped.. in Taiwan.

Since we made good reputation of Snow Peak and caused it grow up very soon, Snow Peak decide to set up branch office in Taiwan.

However, we would like to look for higher quality products to supply to our top customers/members.

Your products are meet our demand perfectly. We have the confidence to make a good performance for your products.

We hope have an opportunity to distribute your products into Taiwan.

    Your earlier reply is appreciated.

    1. Thanks for the interest, but we’re holding off any distribution conversations until we get the COOLEST out to all our amazing Kickstarter backers. Our backers come first!

  13. Have pledged for my International Coolest- look forward to receiving it, do we get a choice of colour when the time comes? Have voted on Facebook, Steel reserve all the way for me or Blue Moon as second choice.

Well done on the idea- fantastic

    1. We’ll be sending around a survey at the end of the campaign to confirm your international shipping address and color choice. Have you remembered to add $100 to cover shipping, for a total pledge of $285?

    1. Sorry, but right now we’re laser focused on delivering to all our generous Kickstarter backers. We’ll be in touch with interested retail and distribution partners only after we fulfill all our Kickstarter obligations. Thanks!

      1. That should be a fairly simple thing to fix, I’m sure the charging adapter manufacturer already has 110v/240v as an option, and in this day and time the cost is negligible. Save your time and request for 110v/240v charging adapter!

  14. I am in HK, would like to have one coolest, can I buy it from Kickstarter since it mention only ship within US,

Do you have any email that I can send you my request? THZ.

    1. We do have an international option open, just add $100 to cover shipping for a total pledge of $285. We’ll reach out to everyone at the end of the campaign to confirm shipping information.

    1. The outside of the COOLEST measures just about 25″x18″x17″ and has 60 quarts volume inside. We won’t have a final weight until further into the production process, but tag on a few extra pounds to your normal cooler for all our gadgets and you’re good to go. Hope that helps! The cost is $185, which is a big savings over the future cost of $299!

    1. The battery for the blender, USB and lid light is an18v NiMH battery rated for 3000 Mah that can be replaced if eventually needed.
With our motor and current gearing, it only takes around 10-15 seconds to blend up a pitcher of drinks. So we’ll have capacity for at least 6 gallons of drinks per charge, likely more.
To recharge, you just plug into the wall or use a car charger and you’re set. Might be an interesting ‘sustainable power’ stretch goal coming too!
The Bluetooth speaker is removable, and the self-contained battery has +1400Mah battery that’s good for around 8 hours per charge. It charges separately.

  15. It would be nice to have all in one. great features. But the key one, that isn’t mentioned anywhere that I can find.

How much does it hold! Having all this fun stuff is basically useless if you’re actual space inside is limited. What good is a cooler if you can’t hold a two-four of beer!

    1. The outside of the COOLEST measures just about 25″x18″x17″ and has 60 quarts volume inside. That should theoretically be enough for 90 cans of whatever, but we’ll know more specifically when we go through our production & quality control process. Stay tuned!

  16. Really impressed with this. Will it charge OK off a UK 240V power supply and are the batteries replaceable. Hate for this to be trashed when the battery finally dies from repeated charging.

    1. We’re so excited to see so much international interest in the COOLEST! It’s still a little too early to make any concrete promises, but we are looking into a solution for you. The battery for the blender, USB and lid light is an18v NiMH battery rated for 3000 Mah that can be replaced if eventually needed.

  17. any chance with all the increased money flowing into the project that we could get a pre christmas delivery, or is the Feb 2015 still the time frame you guys are shooting for

    1. We are so excited that so many people are as pumped about the COOLEST as we are, but this level of interest is beyond our wildest hopes. We budgeted extra time in the process and because we have already hit our goal we can get an earlier start with our manufacturers.
We’ll keep you updated along the way and thanks so much for your support!

  18. Is it possible to bill a Canadian address but ship to a US address? We live just across the boarder and get stuff shipped this way often – it is not a PO box but an actual address.

    1. Billing is handled via Amazon Payments so we won’t actually even see that information. We’ll be sending around a survey after the campaign ends to confirm everyone’s shipping details, so you can have us send it wherever you like at that time. Just be sure to include $15 for continental US shipping and $100 for international shipping.

  19. I love this, simple but effective idea. If I subscribe to this kickstarter project will I be able to get one in the UK?

  20. How long does the battery last before you have to recharge? If your gonna do solar you should make it an accessory that plugs into the cooler and charges the battery, so you can follow the sun and in case something were to happen I think it would be easier to replace the accessory then fix the cooler

  21. So will the speaker charge at the same time as the 18v battery or will you plug it in separately? Where is the button located for the led lights? Will the 18v battery be able to be replaced as needed?

  22. Noticed a QFC bag in the video — you must be PNW company? Curious! Brilliant concept and idea and can’t wait to replace our blue/white cooler for this one once it rolls out!

  23. Love this idea. Glad you all have gotten so much support. Two questions: 1. What will be the starting price on the product when it’s released? 2. Are there any plans to come out with some variations of this product? For instance, we’d love to take this product to the beach, but would prefer a radio as opposed to a bluetooth speaker since we don’t take the electronics out on the beach, and we wouldn’t need the blender (although it’s an awesome idea). Would you be willing to come out with variations that have select features at a reduced price?

    1. Pledging now will cost $185 which is a lot of savings from the future retail price of $299! Thanks for the feature recommendation! We’re reviewing all suggestions as we move the through the process and we’re 100% committed to delivering the best COOLEST possible.
Keep an eye out for future updates!

    1. Right now we only have the one COOLEST color, but we’re running a contest now to pick two more options. Check out our Facebook link above and vote for your favorite colors. We’ll be reaching out after the campaign closes to confirm your shipping details and color choice.

  24. I’d like to know what the blender strength is (nor the voltage for the battery). How does this compare to other blenders?

    1. Our prototype uses just a regular blender from our own kitchen (oops, better remember to replace it now…), but we’ll be designing our own for the final COOLEST. We’ll know more about the blender strength when we finalize the details with our engineering team, so stay tuned for updates as we nail this down.

  25. I really have to wait a full year, and, based on your fundraising and new economies of scale…it may cost LESS when it goes into real production? I will donate/buy…but only when you add college/pro sports teams.

    1. It won’t cost any less than it does right now, we expect an eventual retail price of $299! And we love the idea of adding sports teams, but right now we’re staying laser focused on getting this one design out to all our amazing backers.

  26. How can I get in contact with someone about the product? I have emailed and left voicemails and have not had a reply from either…

    Thank you for your assistance.

  27. Thank you for your answers…The outside of the COOLEST measures just about 25″x18″x17″ and has 60 quarts volume inside.

I think you mean 60 quarts (US Liquids) which means 56 liters. My main question is if those 56 liters is the cooling part I can put in my bottles and so on to cool? If this is not true please give me the measures of the cooling part where I can put in the drinks and so on.

  28. Think a construction lunchbox size one might come out? With most of the features. No blender obviously, but maybe a hot food container?

  29. Hi Guys! Any chance there will be more updates coming to the kickstarter page? I think a lot of us are over there asking questions and are not aware that this is where people from the Coolest Team are responding to questions. Perhaps a heads up from time to time there?

    1. Noted! Unfortunately the Kickstarter website doesn’t allow us to respond directly to individual posts in the Comments section. So we’re trying to interact in every other way possible – we’ve responded to over 5000 direct backer messages, plus Facebook, Twitter and here on our website. We know how excited everyone is for the COOLEST and definitely want to keep you updated!

      1. Thanks for the quick reply! An update ( four already I know) on kickstarted would go along way to easing restless question askers! The BIG question of course is about stretch goals. Being the third most funded project (last update was at 5th…) Are you looking at stretch goals and if so, can you confirm you are exploring solar panels and/or ??

        1. We’re working hard with our designers to see how we can make the COOLEST the best it can possibly be. Solar panels are on the list but may not be possible for various reasons. We’ll definitely update everyone when the final design is in place. There may be a few more voting options coming up where you can get involved, so stay tuned!

  30. I am writing this question just as you are at 36,000 backers and $7.05 million. Since it is still very much of a prototype, do you know what your cost per unit will be to produce the pre-orders? For example, at the end of this campaign (in 36 more days) if you have 75 to 90,000 presales at $185 each, will you be able to deliver them without losing money on each unit? Keep in mind that Kickstarter and Amazon will take their 10%. Is $166.50 per unit a reasonable number to cover the costs for R&D, tooling, assembly, storage, shipping, customer service, etc. to ship this many units?

I am only saying this because you have done a great job getting your idea across to the public. Your original Kickstarter campaign got about $102,000 in interest (enough to deliver about 550 coolers at $185 each). You set your second goal at $50,000 (270 coolers at $185 each). If your cost to produce the coolers in a little higher than $166.50 per unit, a small loss per unit on 270 or 550 coolers would be survivable. A small loss per unit on 90,000 units would be a different story.

    Just asking.

    1. Thanks for looking out for us! We’ve set our pricing low enough to give a great discount to all Kickstarter backers, but still enough to cover our expected (and unexpected!) costs.

  31. Think there would be an option to buy without the speaker? I imagine that could cut the cost quite a bit. Great idea, great product btw! Just backed you on Kickstarter already!!

  32. I was wondering if there was going to be a 3.5-inch audio input on the speaker so that you don’t have to use bluetooth

  33. Can you share with me who helped with your awesome Kickstarter campaign? I am interested in a campaign and loved your success

    1. SOOO many amazing people! We’re going to put together a full guide and lessons learned after the campaign ends, probably sometime in the fall. Right now we’re just focusing on making this the best Kickstarter ever!

  34. Hi
I’m so excited about this cooler can’t wait to get my. It’s like you reading my mind when he came coolers. Have you considered a solar charger. Kim

    1. I’ve tested out a half dozen this year so far, but Bluetooth speakers keep improving in performance and cost. So this will be the very last piece we completely lock in for the COOLEST.

Here are the minimum specs we’re sourcing in a waterproof speaker:

      Audio: 2.0CH+Low frequency passive radiator
      Power: DC+5V,1A
      Battery: 1500mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery
      Speaker: Φ45mm 6Ω*3
      Hz-kHz: 80Hz-20KHz
      SNR: ≥85dB
      Output Power: RMS 5W *2 (THD=10%,f=1KHz)
      PS: Built-in Microphone

  35. Just place the USB-charger next to the phone holder :-)
Install a display to show remaining power and options…
    But it’s great!

  36. if the product does not have enough backers and i pledged the 185.00 do i get my money back? How does this pledge thing work? is there a link to read the info?

  37. Hey there, I can’t wait for my coolest! I was wondering how the quality was for the Bluetooth speaker and how loud is it?

    1. I’ve tested out a half dozen speakers this year so far, but Bluetooth speakers keep improving in performance and cost. So this will be the very last piece we completely lock in for the COOLEST. We won’t have final volume specs until further into the design and production process, but rest assured that our “party in a box” will have a speaker strong enough to bear the COOLEST name.

  38. I love it! I just pledged my $185 but forgot to add the $15 for shipping. Do I need to add shipping now? If so, how do I go about changing the amount? Thank you!

  39. I am in Australia and i want to order the $285 esky but cannot find a place to do it it seems to jump from 225 to 500, please direct me to where I can pledge for this.

  40. My comment never was approved, so obviously it was never answered. I was asking about eventually making bear proof coolers. In MT and other states, it’s a requirement to have bear proof coolers unless locked in a secure vehicle. Any plans for exploring that?

  41. Where does the blender store at in this thing? It seems like it will be rather cumbersome to bring along, and would take up too much space if you had a full coolest. Thanks! Keep up the great work, I can’t wait to get mine!

    1. Constantly changing! We won’t have a final weight until further into the production process, but guesstimate adding 3-4 pounds more than a similar-sized cooler for all our awesome gadgets and that should be close.

  42. Hi Coolest team! Congrats on your success. I’m with One Spark, The World’s Crowdfunding Festival and we’d like to invite your founder(s) to come and share at our Speaker Summit in April 2015. Look forward to hearing back!

  43. Don’t know if anyone proposed this before but how about a solar panel that recharges the battery? in long trips outdoor I’m guessing all the power will run out in one day. If not included in the cooler, is there some solar recharging device that can be used with it?

    1. nevermind I just read that the solar option it’s being analyzed, anyway I would find this feature way more attractive than a blender ff you ask me.. or maybe an interchangeable lid with different options? (blender/solarpanel/etc) so people can choose their favourite flavour?

    2. Sadly the Coolest will not have integrated solar panels – Our research showed that there just wasn’t a robust enough version to effectively integrate with the Coolest at this time. But we are offering an extra battery pack for those who want longer battery life between charging. Take a look and see how that works for you!

  44. Since the battery has been changed to be removable and replaceable if we decide to not get the 2nd battery when we order how will we be able to order one at a later date? Are your plans to have a site setup where replacement parts like replacement blender container and batter can be ordered once these start shipping? Thanks!

    1. Definitely can order the battery at a separate time, but we can’t promise now what pricing will be. We’re working on a future ecommerce solution for new orders, but anything placed there will come only after we fulfill our Kickstarter obligations. Our backers come first!

  45. Made in USA would be awesome, We have an injection molding facility in Corona, CA that could mold all of the plastic injection molded parts and an assembly/fulfilmet house just down the street. I know we can be very competitive and we have equipment large enough to mold these parts!
How about we put a quotation together for you?

  46. hi. was browsing the avaialble pledges and saw there’s a $185 international coolest pledge and $285 coolest world. what’s the difference? asking coz i’m from the Philippines and am pretty much interested in this.

  47. I’m not one for a blender so how about an option to replace the blender top with a solar panel? or a panel on what is not needed for the blender?

      1. Another idea for the future, on the blender component – to have it also hook up with a coffee bean grinder. Can imagine that would be useful on camping trips – especially for us Pacific NWers who love our coffee :)

    1. We’ll know more weight-bearing specifics once we get into the detailed quality control & testing phase of our production. I’ve used it as a seat myself when the lid is closed, but no promises yet!

  48. Like everyone else, I love this idea and execution! Couple questions:

I didn’t see any info on the cooling ability of the cooler itself – arguably the most important ‘feature’ of this product. Keeps items cold for __ days? Industry standard materials or better?

Do you plan to sell a variation without the speaker and/or blender to reduce cost/barrier to entry for those that don’t need these features?

    Thanks!

    1. Good questions! No variations planned for this production run, but we’ll keep that in mind for the future.

We won’t know exact cooling times until further along in our testing and quality-control process, but we’ll definitely keep you updated. It won’t have 3″ of insulation like a Yeti, but we’re certainly aiming for better than traditional coolers.

  49. Will there be shipping tracking? I would hate to have my Coolest Cooler stolen from my doorstep because I was not aware of the shipping and delivery dates.

    1. Absolutely! It won’t be coming until 2015, so we still have some time to nail down all these shipping details. Definitely want to make sure you get your Coolest as soon as it’s ready!

  50. Hello!! I´m very interested in one of this awesome Cooler. I have a few questions: 1.- How do I buy one?, 2.- What is the price of it, and 3.- Can it be shipped to Mexico? Thank you very much. Wish you guys a lot of success!!

  51. yikes! I’m so sorry I missed the funding part of this project! Absolutely psyched for the “coolest team” and how successful the kickstarter projects are!

  52. Okay so just a question, this is the first time I’ve seen the Coolest and its too late to back the kickstarter now but around when will it be available for purchase? I signed up for the wait list but around what time next year can I get it?

  53. Love the project. You definitely need the solar option on there. Or perhaps you can work out a supply agreement that people could purchase both the Coolest and a mobile solar pack to plug into at a reduced cost.

  54. Soooo many comments to read through so I apologize if this has been answered! (and I guess that’s a good problem to have!)

Is it still possible to donate and receive the discounted price and COOLEST for 2/2015?? I looked through the kickstarter site but it was not clear if I could still donate and receive the special!

    Thanks!

    1. Sorry, but Kickstarter pricing was for a limited time only. But you can enter your email on our homepage and we’ll alert you of when we open up another round of pre-orders. We’re offering all our email subscribers a $50 coupon, so still a great discount!

  55. Hello & GREAT JOB!! How does it feel to be number1? (i didn’t read all the other posts so this might have been covered)

Question? I see that you redesigned the phone/speaker to be like an old school tape deck. Is their a way you could make that lockable?

  56. I am so excited for this – my husband will love it! The iPhone holder is a plus, but it would be great if there were some way to protect the iPhone holding area from sand and water…maybe a clear plastic drop-down door? I know I hate having my electronics exposed at the beach – which is where we would use this the most.
